How to Install a Smart Lock Protector (YDM3109a)

Prepping a smart lock for installation is a completely different game than prepping a smartphone. Trust us, we know; we’ve practised! Because the lock is in a fixed, vertical position exposed to the outdoors, achieving a flawless finish requires a strategic approach.
Pre-Install Prep Tips:

Open the Door Fully: Swing the door all the way inside. This lets you stand comfortably while blocking outside wind and airborne dust.

Remove the Batteries: Slide the back cover off and temporarily pull the batteries. Keep the door open, we wouldn't want you getting locked out (me and my dad faced that exact fate while testing this!).
The 4-Step Method
Use the provided sanitising wipe to cut through skin oils, dry it with the microfiber cloth, and use the dust sticker to dab away any hidden airborne fibres.
Gently remove the 'Step 1' backing film. Avoid touching the sticky side!
Test you can try: Before you peel, hold the glass over the lock to practice your alignment. Aim for the top edge of the protector to line up exactly with the top edge of your keypad, keeping it perfectly centred.
Hold the protector by its outer edges and lower the glass onto the screen. Use the squeegee tool to swipe firmly from the centre outward. Your physical pressure creates the bond and pushes the air out.
Gently peel off the front 'Step 2' protective film. Put your batteries back in, close the battery hatch, and enjoy an invisible, premium shield.
